Testimonials

See what our clients have to say about us

I couldn’t recommend Matisse enough! Took the time to listen to every facet of my medical history and was able to make me understand what was happening and how it can be improved. Her kind nature and enthusiasm about helping people makes sessions incredibly fun and personalised. I leave my sessions feeling accomplished and confident in myself! The facilities and vibe are exactly what I have been wanting and with Matisse’s expertise I am excited to see the improvements in my overall health as well as my specific medical needs.

Emma Jalalaty

Matisse impresses me with the care and professional approach to my personal aims and objectives and over a period of sessions she devised a suitable programme for me. I particularly enjoy her warm smile, friendly demeanour and positivity. Whilst some of the sessions are hard work her constant encouragement makes it all worthwhile. The excellent gym equipment and friendly environment is a further encouragement for me.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I do Strength and Conditioning if I have never been in a gym before?

Yes you can! The great thing about Strength and Conditioning at SIS is that our highly experienced team members specialise in providing the foundations of strength to people of all levels and experiences. The purpose of the initial consultation is for us to get to you know so we can create a program for you that is safe, effective and fun.

Is strength and conditioning the same as HIIT?

While both strength and conditioning and HIIT involve high-intensity exercises, they are not the same. Strength and conditioning programs focus on building strength and endurance through resistance training and cardio exercises, while HIIT workouts are more focused on burning calories and improving cardiovascular fitness through short bursts of intense exercise.

How often should I do strength and conditioning exercises?

The frequency of strength and conditioning exercises varies depending on the individual's fitness level and goals. It is recommended to do strength training exercises at least 2-3 times per week for optimal results.

Can strength and conditioning help with chronic pain management?

Yes, strength and conditioning exercises can help to manage chronic pain by improving muscle strength and mobility, reducing inflammation, and improving overall physical function.

Are strength and conditioning exercises suitable for all ages?

Yes, strength and conditioning exercises can be tailored to suit people of all ages and fitness levels. However, it is recommended to consult with a healthcare professional before starting any new exercise program, especially for older adults or those with pre-existing medical conditions.

Can I complete my training at home with minimal equipment?

Yes you can- if home training is more suitable for your schedule we can create you a program to complete at home. We do recommend completing regular appointments with our Exercise Physiologists as there is access to all equipment to optimise your progression.
